Scientific Programs
Telespazio, which in 2009 incorporated the MARS Center in Naples, carries out experiments on board the International Space Station (ISS), ranging from the integration of payloads to their in-orbit operation, astronaut training and the dissemination of the scientific data obtained.

In this last regard, Telespazio aims to broaden its expertise by taking part in the European Union’s scientific and technological research project ULISSE, whose objective is to assimilate data from the ISS with that from other microgravity missions.
The experiments carried out on the manned platforms have proved useful for Telespazio in the field of scientific missions and exploration, especially in the Lunar and Mars exploration programmes promoted by the European Space Agency (ESA) and Italian Space Agency (ASI).

Finally, the company plays an active role both in research for direct exploration missions to NEOs (near-Earth objects), small celestial bodies at risk of colliding with the Earth, and ESA’s Space Situational Awareness programme.

The main areas of activity are:

Experiments on board the ISS
Support for the Scientific Operations on Payloads
Scientific Missions and Exploration Programmes
